AGRIDEO, (hereinafter referred to as “AGRIDEO”, “We”, “we” or “us”) operates the Agrideo platform that is accessible through https://www.Agrideo.com (the “website”, or the “platform”).

Agrideo.com is the world’s first social network for the agriculture and food sector.

We are here to help and inspire millions of people to freely express their talents in order to create a great place where everyone is connected in the Agriculture and Food industry, sharing their knowledge, products, breaking the poverty circle, where everyone is improving his livelihood, the food security, protecting the environment, providing nutritious, safe and affordable food, boosting agricultural productivity in a sustainable way, transforming the agriculture and food sector in a good way with disruptive technology, by creating an increased qualitative number of jobs, including for women and youth by reinventing the global food system with prosperity for all. We built a Social Network to remove the barriers between people, maximising exposure for talents, organisations and businesses. Data protection for Agrideo

It is worth mentioning that the present Privacy Policy does not apply to practices of companies related to Agrideo, owned or controlled by the latter, or to individuals that we do not employ or manage.

AGRIDEO is the controller for the data regarding the website visitors or users of Agrideo platform, in accordance with Article 4(7) of REGULATION (EU) 2016/679 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of April 27th 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation) or GDPR.

It is important to highlight Agrideo’s principles regarding user privacy and data protection. We take the mission of protecting your privacy seriously. Agrideo acknowledges the duty of care to the people whose data it processes. Agrideo will only collect and process data when it is absolutely necessary for the purposes it was initially collected. What is more important, Agrideo will clarify the reasoning behind each data processing and how it will use the personal data.

Emails, messages and other communication

General communication: When you communicate with us by email, via the Agrideo platform or other means, we may keep a copy of that exchange.

Customer service: When you contact us to report a technical or other problem, a bug or report unwanted content, we may keep a record of your communication. The reasoning behind this is to improve the services provided by Agrideo and, ultimately, offer our users an improved user experience.

Sharing ideas: When you communicate with us to share your idea, suggest improvements to our services, we may also save a copy of that information to improve our services.

Notifications: We will send you notification messages by email when you register for the Agrideo platform or to notify you about activity linked to your Agrideo account, in your Agrideo inbox (Agrideo messaging), on your mobile phone (SMS)or directly on the Agrideo platform in the "Notifications" section. We can also send you notifications by email or mobile phone or within the Agrideo platform to keep our users informed of news, their activities and updates related to our services, promotional messages from us or our partners, reminders on the use of our services. Please note that you can change or personalise your preferences for receiving emails at any time from the "Settings & Privacy" section on the website. It is important to highlight that you cannot refuse to receive emails that can guarantee access to your account such as "resetting your password", "confirming your registration", legal warning messages or messages related to security.

Web Messaging and Chat through mobile apps: We collect and store information and data when you send, receive or exchange messages between you and members of your Agrideo network (connections) on any device including desktop, mobile phone or tablet to guarantee the availability of communication services to our users or to allow users to have a history of their communication.

The collection and storage of communication information are done when you send written messages (text), photos, videos, emojis, documents, voice messages, make incoming and outgoing audio calls, incoming video calls and outgoing.

If users connect to the messaging / chatting with other users of Agrideo using our mobile application called “Agrideo Talk” for iOS & Android, we may collect:

  • Geo-Location Information. We may request access or permission to and track location-based information from your mobile device, either continuously or while you are using our mobile application, to provide location-based services. If you wish to change our access or permissions, you may do so in your device’s settings.
  • Mobile Device Access. We may request access or permission to certain features from your mobile device, including your mobile device’s (Bluetooth, calendar, camera, contacts, microphone, reminders, sensors, SMS messages, social media accounts, storage) and other features. If you wish to change our access or permissions, you may do so in your device’s settings.
  • Camera and Photos. We may require access to collect images and other information from your device's camera and photos. For example, you won’t be able to send or upload photos from your camera roll unless we can access your camera or photos.
  • Mobile Device Data. We may collect device information (such as your mobile device ID, model and manufacturer), operating system, version information and IP address.
  • Push Notifications. We may request to send you to push notifications regarding your account or the Application. If you wish to opt-out from receiving these types of communications, you may turn them off in your device’s settings.
Online presence data (Social media websites and/or third-party networks)

Agrideo may process data that stems out from links to your public account pages at social media websites, links to personal websites or other online materials related to you. If you choose to sign up on Agrideo through other social media websites, Agrideo will receive personal data and account information from that respective website. When you perform this action, the permission page of the linked website will provide an explanation regarding the personal data that is about to be shared. Please check the Privacy Policy of the foregoing website to verify their online practices as Agrideo cannot be held responsible. Users of Agrideo may disconnect from a linked website on their Agrideo profile at any time.

a) Invite your Friends

Users of Agrideo can freely determine to invite their friends from third-party networks such as Linkedin, Facebook, Twitter, Gmail or any other email provider. The specific information provided to us by these third party networks or apps and to which we will have access is determined by you, and these third parties may vary depending on the network. Nevertheless, the permissions page for the third-party network or third-party apps will describe the information shared. Moreover, users of Agrideo should consult the privacy policy of each of the respective third-party networks or third party apps for information on their practices. The information obtained from these third-party networks will only be used by Agrideo to provide its users with the expected services. In addition, your personal data will not be shared with any third parties. To find out how to disconnect a third-party network or a third-party application from your Agrideo account, you can consult their respective sections on their own websites.

b) Third-party Log in, Sign-up

Agrideo may receive data concerning you from third parties. For example, if you access our website or our services through a social log-in which that is similar to a single sign-on where you use existing log-in information of a social network like Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter, Google... to log in or signup to Agrideo website, instead of creating a new log-in account especially for our website. After you signed in and authenticated our application, that third party (for example, Linkedin, Facebook, Google...) may transmit certain information about your use of their service to Agrideo. This information may include, but is not limited to, your member ID associated with your account and basic profile information (for example, your first name, last name, profile photo...). This may also include an access token required to access that service or any information that an Agrideo user had given the permission to the third party to share with Agrideo. In addition,any information that you had made public in relation to that service may also be included. The information obtained from these third-party networks will only be used by Agrideo to offer its users the services that the latter had anticipated. It goes without saying that we do not intend to share this information with any other third parties. We highly advise our users to always review and, if necessary, adjust their privacy settings on third-party websites before creating a connection between the latter and the Agrideo website. You can also unlink your third-party account from the service by adjusting your settings on the third-party service. If you unlink your third-party account, we will no longer receive the information collected about you as part of this service.

c) Sharing content from Agrideo to other social media sites

Sharing content on multiple platforms (Facebook, Linkedin...) will improve your customer experience, increase your brand exposure, give more exposure to hiring targeted people. For example, you may use share button "Share on Facebook" to share your job offer to Facebook to give more exposure and attract more candidates to your recruitment agency or even share your articles to other social media sites like Linkedin to let your network know about your new publication. And naturally, our website will typically result in new visitors.

d) Sharing your Twitter Feed to Agrideo

You have the choice to integrate your Twitter content into your business page in the Agrideo site. If you choose to connect a Twitter feed to your business page, we will access certain information obtained from Twitter regarding your account. You also have the possibility to edit, update or remove the Twitter feed from your business page. The specific information provided to us by Twitter and to which we will have access is determined by you. In particular, we may store your Twitter ID, Twitter feed or tweets as well as information about the particular profile you are connecting to, including but not limited to, your followers, profile picture, likes and shares, displayed time.

When you view Twitter content or Twitter products integrated into Agrideo site showing your Tweets using Twitter for Websites, Twitter may receive information including the web page you visited, your IP address, browser type, operating system, and cookie information. This information helps Twitter to improve its products and services.

Content data

Any content that you may post on the platform or mobile apps including without limitation, your profile, business page, B2B marketplace, career page, groups, projects, jobs, preferences, settings, messages, Likes, favourites, comments, or any other contributions to Agrideo’s services, and metadata about them (such as when you posted them).

Behavioural Analytics

Agrideo studies behavioural analytics in order to understand what users do online, how they act and react to our content, brands, and campaigns, and how they behave on different platforms and devices. We also use behavioural analytics to see page views and sessions and to discover how different user-groups engage with our site.

Agrideo uses this data in order to understand what its users do. This is applicable to everything from brand strategy to marketing campaigns. This way, we can provide tailored experiences for our users.

We are reading this data through the use of cookies. Specific information regarding Agrideo’s use of cookies and the possibility of persons to reject the latter is available in Chapter 5 hereunder.

Technical data

We collect technical data:

  • To see detailed traffic data for desktop, tablets and mobile updated in real-time;

Any content you may upload, share and post

We collect and store information and any content that you upload, post or share on the Agrideo Platform, including without limitation your photos, videos, preferences, settings, text content, documents, comments and links to external websites as well as messages or communication with others and other contributions on the Services. Unless you have set your privacy to "Only Me", which means that only you, as the owner of the given content, will be able to see it, your content, timestamps and all associated comments are visible to your connections on the platform Agrideo, along with your name and position.

Any other information you may submit to Agrideo, on a voluntary basis, while communicating with us.

Agrideo may sometimes send small data files that are named “cookies” to your device in order to make the website of Agrideo work correctly.

What are cookies?

A cookie represents a small text file which is saved on your PC or mobile phone by a website when you visit the Agrideo website. The cookie allows a given website to store your actions and/or preferences. As an example, these may be the login credentials, language, font size and/or other display preferences over a period of time. This would allow you not to have to keep re-entering the latter each time you come back to the website.

The targeted and advertising cookies are used to record and understand the browsing tendency of our users. This allows us to display the information that is of more interest to our website visitors. The browsing history of the users is read and is used to bring together website visitors who share the same preoccupation.

Social Media cookies

Social media cookies are present when a website visitor distributes information utilising a social media sharing button or a “like” button on the Agrideo website. These cookies may also be used when you connect your account on Agrideo to your social media networking websites, e.g. Google, Twitter or Facebook. It is worth mentioning that the foregoing social media networks will also keep track of your actions. How can the user modify its settings?

The user can manually change the settings on his/her browser related to cookies. When a user accesses the website, Agrideo’s servers will immediately store certain data that the web browser dispatches each time you visit any website. Web beacons

The Agrideo website may also engage web beacons (GIFs or tracking pixels) when a user visits the website from an ad network. This would allow us to record the online usage pattern. Web beacons offer the possibility to the ad networks to supply information that is useful to us and/or advertisers for research and reporting purposes in an anonymised way. Targeted advertisements are also possible through the use of web beacons. In order for this to happen, the web browser must demand these ads and web beacons from the ad network’s servers. Further, users must know that these entities have the option to place their own cookies, edit or view similar to when you visit their website. Social Media Sites / Third-party networks

  • Social log-ins are mainly designed for simplifying the log-in process for users. The user doesn’t have to create a new log-in account, meaning to think of a new user name and password, and to remember it. The use of social log-ins can make the registration- or subscription process easier, and therefore faster.
  • To improve user or your customer experience, increase your brand exposure, give more exposure to your content.

In terms of the purposes used overall, Agrideo may use your personal information for the following purposes:

  • Performance of the services: Agrideo requires basic personal data as described above to be able to register as a user.
  • Enquiries, requests, questions or support: Users may contact Agrideo by email. We will use the personal data that it was submitted in the foregoing request in order to reply.
  • Contacting you about different updates, other products or services: Agrideo may use your personal information to contact you with information about product updates and services that may be of interest to you or necessary to your website.

It is important to highlight that Agrideo will not use your personal data for other purposes than those listed. We will not store data which is not necessary for our purposes and will not keep it for longer than it is necessary. Moreover, we will not sell or disclose this data to any other third party processors. 7. To whom does Agrideo share your personal data?

We will only share personal data with others based on your consent, to fulfil our business obligations and when it is legally permitted to do so. In brief, personal data processed by Agrideo may be transferred to:

Processors engaged by Agrideo for the performance of a given task

When we share data with our processors, it is under contractual arrangements to provide appropriate guarantees to enforce suitable technical and organisational measures in accordance with the GDPR. Moreover, where the processor fails to fulfil its data protection obligations, we will remain fully liable to the client (in our capacity of a controller) for the performance of the processor’s obligations.

Agrideo is using the following processors:
  • OVH (France) to host and store Personal Data, Dynamic content and Static content in Europe.
  • Wasabi cloud storage in Amsterdam to store website files, videos, images and other objects in order to improve the end-user experience. We employ Wasabi’s high-performance, exabyte-scale cloud storage for origin storage while using our Cloudflare CDN to deliver content to end-users fast. Wasabi protects your information by encrypting all data, both in transit and at rest.
  • Agrideo may store some content outside Europe with the use of CDN (Content Delivery Network) provided by Cloudflare. A website may be hosted in a particular region, but have the majority of its users accessing the website from a completely separate area. A global CDN would allow users from Europe to download/access static content from a neighbouring source. Instead of spanning the Atlantic ocean to retrieve data, they can connect to a server that is closer to obtain the same data. This may decrease the latency and improve the loading of the Agrideo website.
  • One development agency located in India. This company provides Agrideo with four back-end developers and two front-end developers, one designer, two testers and one project manager. Agrideo may receive random requests from third parties with authority to request and subsequently obtain disclosure of personal that is processed by us. This may be requested in order to verify whether Agrideo is complying with the applicable law. Therefore, Agrideo will only fulfil requests for personal data when allowed by the applicable law.

8. Data subject’s individual rights

Right of access

Users of Agrideo have the right to request from us confirmation as to whether or not personal data concerning them are processed by Agrideo. If that is the case, Agrideo’s users can request and get access to that personal data in accordance with applicable law. You can request a copy of all the personal data you had shared with us in a machine-readable format at any time. To do this, you can go to the "Settings and Privacy" section from your main menu, then click on the "Privacy Tab". Then, in the "Download your personal data" section, click on the "Download" button, and an email will be sent to you with all the instructions. Users of Agrideo have the right to request Agrideo the rectification of any inaccurate personal data that is processed by us. Right to erasure

  • Due to the fast pace of the IT development sector, in particular, in the security and privacy sector of the Internet, there are limitations which are beyond Agrideo’s control;
  • The security, stability of the IT systems, and privacy of the information processed and exchanged on the Agrideo platform cannot be guaranteed; and
  • Any such information and data may be read or interfered with a third-party, despite our continuous efforts to avoid that.
11. Data retention

Agrideo will retain the personal data for as long as it is necessary to maintain your Agrideo account open or to fulfil the purposes the personal data was initially collected for. This includes purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting or reporting requirements, but also data that you or others submitted to Agrideo and was subsequently processed by us as a result of your use of Agrideo’s Services.

With reference to your communication information via messaging on the web / mobile versions, Agrideo records your information exchanged with users of the site for a period of 365 calendar days. Each message exchanged using Agrideo messaging will be automatically deleted after the period of 365 days had elapsed. However, you have the possibility to delete your information communicated in the messaging system at any time according to your choice. You have the choice of deleting or keeping your information exchanged via the Agrideo site messaging system in the web version or via its mobile chat applications.

The same rules apply to the data collected by our sub-processors that are mentioned above.

12. Transfer of data to third countries

Personal data of EEA (European Economic Area) residents may be transferred to our processors which are based / process the data outside of the EEA as explained under Chapter 6. Should this be the case, Agrideo ensures that it takes all necessary measures to protect the personal data of its users in accordance with the applicable law.
